Note on the disposal of used batteries
The following note is addressed to those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer sell them in the form in which they were delivered to them (end users):
- Free take-back of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can return used batteries at a local collection point or at the point of sale. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries, but our take-back obligation is limited to the types of batteries that we offer or have offered as new batteries in our range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or drop them off free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
- Meaning of battery symbols
Hazardous batteries are marked with a symbol consisting of a crossed-out waste bin and the chemical symbol (Cd/Cadmium, Hg/Mercury, Pb/Lead, or Li-Ion/Lithium-Ion) of the heavy metal responsible for classifying the battery as hazardous.
